Robert Sidorsky has practiced for over thirty years in the area of complex financial litigation and has extensive experience in representing international clients in cross-border litigation and bankruptcy matters. His practice is concentrated in the areas of financial services litigation, accountants’ liability, securities litigation, director and officer liability, and bankruptcy-related claims.
Robert has represented investors, bankruptcy trustees, governmental agencies, and accounting firms in a number of high profile cases arising out of fraudulent financial reporting. He has also acted as litigation and conflicts counsel in significant bankruptcy matters. He has represented both domestic and international clients in a wide variety of commercial litigation, including claims of officer and director liability, securities fraud, fraudulent conveyance claims, lender liability, corporate governance and board election issues, breach of contract and interpretation of financial instruments, misappropriation of trade secrets, automotive supplier disputes, and construction litigation. He also is frequently involved in litigation matters with respect to sovereign immunity issues and the cross-border enforcement of judgments and international arbitral awards.
Prior to becoming a member of Russo PLLC, Robert was a shareholder in the New York office of Butzel Long and a partner in Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP. Robert graduated from Columbia Law School, where he was Managing Editor of the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law, and he received his undergraduate degree (magna cum laude) from Harvard College, where he majored in Russian history.
Robert is a member of the New York State Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of New York, the Eastern District of Michigan, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He has been a member of the Board of Advisors of the Securities Reform Act Litigation Reporter and is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York State Bar Association and the International Bar Association. Robert has been recognized as a New York Super Lawyer in the field of Securities Litigation (2013-2022).
Robert is a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Italian Modern Art located in New York City.
