Yana Britan focuses her practice on the litigation and arbitration of disputes involving commercial, contract, corporate, securities and other business related law.
Yana joined Kruzhkov Russo at the firm’s inception and has extensive experience in handling complex commercial litigation matters. Prior to that, Yana was an associate at a prominent international law firm, Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP, where her practice focused on corporate and financial transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and asset finance. She acted on projects in various sectors, including real estate, energy, shipping, technology and telecommunications.
Yana received her LL.M. with concentration in business law from Duke University School of Law in 2012, and she received her Specialist in Law (J.D. equivalent), summa cum laude, from Saratov State Academy of Law (Russia) in 2009. During law school Yana served as the President of the European Law Student Association (ELSA-Saratov) and represented her school at the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition. At the same time, Yana was actively involved in scholarly work on international and comparative law resulting in a number of presentations at international legal conferences and subsequent publications in law journals.
Yana is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and qualified to practice law in the Russian Federation.
